I was born in Reykjavik, Iceland and went to compulsory school, college and university there. After graduating with a BA degree in Psychology from the University of Iceland I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign where I completed an MA  degree and a PhD degree in Educational Psychology.

After finishing my education I have taught at all school levels and worked as a school psychologist and a school counselor.

Currently I am conducting research on career expectations of high school students in the USA, Iceland and Scandinavia.

I am a resident of Florida and the owner, with my wife Lilja, of a tutoring services company in the USA (the American Tutoring Center LLC).
